We recommend sending only two or three of your best pictures. Suggestions for topics can be sent to the same email address. Also if you want an email reminder, send an email to us with the subject: "Photography Mailing list" your address will be kept confidential and used Only for UF_DPC reminders and notifications (if your e-mail is different from your UF name, let us know who you are).

With Vox.com closing down on October 1 2010, we have been moving the blog and gallery. We now have two parallel sites that will be hosting the pictures. Davydd will be adminstrator for the UF Flickr account and UF DPC group. If you have a flikr account you may contact him through flickr and he'll set you up as part of the UF group.

On the Blogging side, all of the VOX tutorials, reviews and photos, have been moved to Hieraco. An excellent (and non affiliated) resource for photography including camera reviews, tips and tutorials, and galleries is Photo Answers a UK based website run by the publishers of Practical Photography magazine.

Our FAQ for new members and a reminder to the veterans.

1) What size/format should my pictures be?
- A: We prefer JPG and a reasonable size for the pictures. We don't need 5Mb Jpeg pictures. 11Mb TIFF and BMP are completely out of the question.

2) What if I don't have a digital Camera?
- It's only a name, if you don't have a digital camera, use a film camera and scan the picture in. Also many Photo stores now develop film and will put the images on a CD for you at a reasonable cost.

3) Can I send in pictures I found on the Internet?
- NO! Not only is it a copyright infringement, but the idea is to enjoy the hobby of photography and improve your skills through peer critique.

4) How long do I have to take my pictures?
- Each month there will be a new topic. It use to be a weekly assignment, but we found that was not enough time for people to get out and take pictures

5) Do I have to take the pictures every month?
- No, you can put as much time into your hobby as you like. If a topic does not appeal to you, you are not committed to sending anything that month

6) How do I know what the topic is?
- Usually the first Monday of the month we will post the topic. Also we will try and post a reminder each Monday and Friday on the message board, and will leave a post in the diary.

7) What if I'm too busy one month?
- no problem, if you have a picture that you have previously taken that fits the topic, you can send that in for you submission for that month, but avoid just submitting too many previously taken pictures, you can only improve through practice.

8) I have a great Idea for a topic, who should I tell?
- Email The photo club at Gmail and we will add your suggestion to our rotation of topics. Please do not be offended if we don't get to it right away, there are only 12 months in a year so we are limited as to how many topics we can use. We do appreciate all suggestions
