      Attention Mr. X: by LongFist 2017-05-29 17:27:25
You've crossed the opening skillfully well - apparently nobody has noticed your movements at all.  Every glance back to the rest of the group reveals them moving methodically, scanning every direction, looking sharp and ready for anything.  for a moment, you know how a Special Forces Team Leader must feel - proud of his unit, operating at prime right there at the sharp end!

As you crossed the opened hatchway you couldn't help but notice that the entire area is lit by candles, and there is, indeed, a bon-type fire somewhere further down the delivery space.  There is a LOT of interesting tubing and such, the whole of it appearing to form a web within that space - at first glance.  There are also people in there, as well as a few statues made from a carbon-fibre-looking sheath.  Weird.  In the center is what looked (at a glance, remember) to be a funeral bier, which would be a strange reason to start WWIV, especially down here.

And that's about all your glance affords, as you skipped the twenty-foot doorway as quickly as you could and remain totally silent.
