When you gaze down between the front and "second" front walls (they have a double-layered front wall, with the required armor-piercing explosive "gap" that renders THAT type of weapon mostly harmless) you see napalm two tanks badly oversprayed with black paint for each weapon, and laying down almost underneath them (at each location) a high-pressure propellant bottle, the obvious "pusher" that gives the flamethrowers their "oomph", allows them to actually spray out their contents. Your command push informs you that they're, indeed, under high pressure and they gus report an effective envelope of thirty metres or so, arc depending. The propane underfuel isn't part of the napalm shot, it provides a locally hot flame that keeps the napalm ignited under such high force, and provides the MG with a highly lcoallized protective corona, in case something gets "under" the arc of the napalm spray. Unlikely, but in this situation would be totally fruitless.
Your systems "see" multiple command carriers, but your current stealth mode prevents your on-boards from making contact. Sort of like that all-seeing eye, only a lot more ghostly-er. Sometimes your truly thankful for those fail-safes. You note that the active and passive security scanners appear to only notice Ace and Block; your "shadow" systems are rendering you totally invisible to them, either [a] beacuse they truly *CAN'T* perceive you, or [b] because you appear to be a glitch or an error. To fully figure this out, you'd need to actually connect and subscribe to a channel - again your "silent safeguard" systems prevent that from happening automatically.
Block appears to be looking back toward the wall (and Ace, behind you) rather quizically... |
