    You roll onto the stoop of a nearby house and over the banister into the next "yard", cloaking as you do so.  This not only gets you out of the line of sight but also provides you with some cover and concealment - two very different commodities in short supply on this street...

    You scan and scan, but nothing seems to be there.  In the shadows between two parked vans, something moves!  You track/scan it as best as you can, and you surmise that it is a human-sized individual in a thermal/ghillie suit - they're outfitted a LOT like you are, but with additional thermal cloaking, putting them a rung (or two) above you on the predator/prey ladder.  Your audio system picks up grumbling, and the flicker of movement between the vans vanishes, quite possibly back down the road from which it came...           ...you think...
