Gonna' try and make sense of this if it *kills* me, which it has the distinct potential to achieve if I don't follow the standards of safety when this thing gets some juice.  I'm also going to try and draw out the finished schematic shortly before I start assembly to get an extra pair of eyes (or more) to look over my work, see that I haven't left anything out (or far worse, added something stupid **in**)!

Thanks for the insights.  Let's see if I truly understood 'em, or not...
