You note some really important stuff in a short time, because when you shift to Astral perception...
In the real world, you note the seven people in the center of the bay, with a bonfire one their far side, between them and the back wall. Three people stand, holding cylinders attached to plastic tubing on the left, four more do so (also holding cylinders attached to plastic tubing) on the right. There appears to be a shadow in the very back, without a person to cast it, exactly.
In the Astral, you see that the people on the left and right are metahumans of various types, but the young-ish pregnant girl in labor is, uh, ...wow... ....she is a HUGE spider, locked down to the gurney by metal brackets, and her legs dangle limply off the left and right sides of the gurney. This is wrong on sooooo many levels, but you just noticed the "shadow" on the back wall is another HUGE spider of some sort, and it's somehow fairly invisible on the REAL world plane, but you can see it easily here in the Astral. The floor, too dark to see in the normal world, appears to be strewn with body parts, as if someone threw a small party into a food processor and let it spray across the entire bay: a LOT like the aftermath of a frag granade party, in fact. In the astral, this room smells like decay as well, and the "energy" of the room is almost poisonous in itself, and it leaves you feeling queasy as you "flip" back into the real world.
....you're fairly alarmed at how miasmatic the Astral Perception has left you, sort of like a chemically malevolent after-taste. |
