| The clatter is echoing down the hallway, so it's not exactly something you can zero in on, except maybe to follow it like ships to a lighthouse, or moths to a flame. You know it could go either way. But for all you know, it doesn't exactly sound malevolent, or even very threatening. It's just a noise, you know? Echolocation puts it maybe 70 metres down the hallway - maybe not linear metres, exactly, because it *could* be sound bouncing around a corner or something, but it gives you something to shoot for.
