Signage: what a silly, outdated concept. In today's world, A/R (context: Augmented Reality) takes up that slack, meaning that most smooth surfaces and contours can remain unbroken, unstained or defiled, with those logos and displays "emplaced" in the eyes and minds of the viewers. As a result, the foyer looks like a stunning waiting area, perhaps at a five-star restaurant or maybe one of those chic chiba clinics. Getting an idea, Block activates his "burner" comms, and Whoa, Nelly! The A/R systems, suddenly realizing there are people there (nobody in your group has - or rather HAD - their public area networks turned on - which is good OPSEC for a group of guys trying to remain invisible) flashes to life and the back wall, covered in downlighted tasteful hardwood shelving, is suddenly alive with corporate logos, in no particular order: Merlion Aviation PLC; Abolath Takam Investigations; Shen Medical Foundation; Sint Holo Tactical Investments; Xecotcovach Explosives Gen., LLC; Vķšópnir Multinational; Xindhi Matrix Estate PLC; Arimaspi Enterprises; Yeth Explosives Associates; Crinaeae Group and Rusalka Inc.; The Awa-hon-do Exploration Ministry; Antero Vipunen Transhuman Consolidated; Kongamoto Metahuman; Pricolici Arcane S.A.; Chepi Fahrzeugbau (the armored clothing designers); Paasselkä Oil; Zahhak Strategic Ministry; Serpopard Industries; Ato-oi-kozō Cybernetics Labs; Lilitu Cloning Group; Antero Vipunen School International; Ziz Glashtyn Advertising Industries AG; Dvergr Machinery Consolidated; Aloja Metaphysics Limited; Cucuy School PLC; Putz Investigation; and Zeus Federal Net.
But as your eyes/minds absorb all of these company names and logos you note that this huge building is situated not as a corporate incubator (as one might have previously suspexted) but more like a Mall of America - this place is just FULL of businesses, all functioning together in a little microcosm.
There are Fast-Food places: Helal Rice with Fries; Kosher Soy Beef & Bacon Speciale with Chocolate; Vegan Soy Baguettes; The Pie; Vegan Soy Beef & Bacon King Size with Fries; The Smoked Schnaps Supreme; Deep-Fried Soy Fast Food; Fermented Champagne Double with Ham; The Elven Vodka Triple; and Raw Soy Bacon just to name a few.
They have Bars and Restaurants: Clara's Beef Town; Dwarven Bread Road House; Tisha's Drinks Delivery; Josefina Schawarma's Food Court; Trusted Baguettes Taproom; The Cloned Mushrooms and Meatballs Fun Place; The Diet Salad Deli; and Vanessa's Drunken Spaghetti jump immediately to the eye.
And they even have little Shops: Mitsuhama Collectibles Import; Renraku Matrix Estate; Kayla Lingerie DIY; First Class Supervision Supermall; Lloyd Drugstore; Jane's Aerospace Booth; Novelties and Kraft; Manel's Casual Clothing Outlet; Fannie's Mandarin Protection Grocer; Alyson's EVO Protection - Always On Sale; Sheena's Popular Education Service Store; Dwayne's Atztechnology Automatics Super Store; and Mayssa Manpower Emporium to name the more popular -recognizable - ones that swim in the air before you.
All of this forms a scattered A/R fantasia, all swimming before your eyes. The corporate brands are different in that none of them carry the "Find Me" icon that the other fast-food, bars, restaurants, and shops carry. Guess that if you knew enough to comprehend that their corporate headquarters is located *here*, then you would also be cognizant of *where* in *here* to find them. One would expect, anyway. Also there's the fact that the smaller Fast-Food, Shops, Bars, and Restaurants might move around sometimes, so maybe there is a need for the "Find Me" icon on their display.
And still, there is no debris in the foyer that you could make out. |
