How many computers do you own? by kelli2172004-04-22 09:03:22
  3 computers. by rorajoey 2004-04-23 11:49:50
Apple ][+
(I use this occassionally for Hitchhiker's Guide or the Zork trilogy, mainly)
- AppleSoft language card - CP/M card
- 80 column card
- drive controller with 4 drive capacity, only 1 (5.25") drive attached
- Okidata dot-matrix printer
- Zenith monochrome monitor

Home-made PC:
(I use this as my file server)
- Intel micro-ATX mobo with integrated graphics & sound
- PIII 800EB coppermine
- 1 256MB DIMM
- 1 30GB IBM HDD
- 1 80GB WD HDD
- 10/100 LAN
- 17" CRT
- Creative Labs "Inspire 2500" speaker system
- Dual-boot Win98SE and WinXPPro

from local PC retailer:
(SO uses this sometimes--she recently started playing Riven)
- ASUS ATX mobo
- PIII 866
- 1 128MB DIMM
- 1 80GB WD HDD
- 10/100 LAN
- ATI Radeon 9000 Pro, 128MB DDR
- 17" flat CRT
- SoundBlaster Live with 5.1 surround
- ProSonic 5.1 Speaker System
- wireless keyboard/optical mouse
- Win98SE

other peripherals:
- LinkSys cable modem
- NetGear 8-port cable/DSL router with firewall
- Epson 777 color inkjet printer

Notes: The P3 800EB Coppermine and the 30GB IBM HDD were originally in the store-bought system, but I migrated them to my home-made system. The mobo for my home-made system came from a friend's computer, which I upgraded to a P4 1.4GHz system. I intend to replace this mobo and its processor with a Tyan Thunder K8W and a pair of Athlon Opteron processors when I get the $$$, and then a few more $$$ besides. And yes, I do realize I need more RAM... :)
