    As expected, you find the splash of blood on the backstop of the bench on the corner, so you have a clue which alley your quarry has ducked into.  The trail goes immediately cold a few steps into the alley, though.

    You look around.  No, these buildings are spaced (and of different heights) making roof-to-roof extremely impractical.  Never said impossible, exactly, but X figures there would be severe body mods and/or spellcasting involved.  Since neither of these options appears open tonight, we'll just settle on "impractical" and leave it at that.
