    In your assensing mode, you just sea a cloudy space.  For once you note that your eyes on the NORMAL plane of vision work better - which is a strange switch - usually it's the other way around.  But the blowing clouds of whatever-it-is make it difficult to see anything astrally - you figure that's probably a corporate defense system gone awry, because surely it would affect *their* mages, too!

    Visually, everything is "as described", with nothing out of the ordinary going on except that peculiar clatter way off in the distance.  Nothing jumps out to attack Ace, and although you didn't *SEE* X move past you, somehow he's standing to Ace's right-rear inside the foyer, weapon up and rather obviously on overwatch.  He keeps fading in and out of sight, making him really hard to see, especially in the astral.  Of course, his astral "self" wasn't a very strong presence, anyway, so this might not be out of the ordinary.

    You are standing just outside the door, leaning in across Ace's shoulder to the left, with a clear view/coverage of the left side of the foyer.
