went WAY DOWN) I managed to contact an Agent there at SSS (you can find them at SSS.Gov who did some incredible database gymnastics and found my records! So I am once again fully registered, non-draft-dodging, law-abiding me, instead of being the shady draft-dodger they thought I was back at school. Quite a comeback, I must say. But I was a bit concerned; it looked as if someone had tried to hide my docs, instead of deleting them outright, which would have shown up on a group of logs. If that person had the capacity to delete it at all.
So I don't need to create any identifying data. Most excellent. This means that I will soon be able to square this with my Financial Aid, and that means putting my existing loan (with ACS) on hold while I'm "attending" another university. Previously they offered to shoulder the loans (thus increasing my 'money owed' tally) on my existing account: times have changed, so I'll have to go through that rigamarole yet again. If it works out, I'll be borrowing more money against/under my existing loan, rather than having to renegotiate several different loans. time will tell - we'll just have to see.
Still, this is good news. I think I'm happy again... |
