Okay, we're in CRUNCH TIME now! by Longfist2015-01-08 19:48:48
Did you measure the battery under load? by ideur2015-01-11 03:06:49
For what? Not sure where you're going, here... by LongFist2015-01-12 13:23:09
        Just wondering why a 36V battery should have 48V by ideur2015-01-12 20:44:25
Aaaaand *NOW* you see what's so special by Longfist 2015-01-13 04:02:37
about this High School's AVT (Advanced Vehicle Technologies) after-school program!  It's not dumbed-down for high-schoolers; they have to rise to the occasion.  And they do.  It isn't impossible for younglings to accomplish this level of performance - several of we Ufies are living proof, even though we were often listed as "exceptional" for doing so.  (Insanity can sometimes be considered "exceptional", for varying values of "exception"...)

The thing here is that the battery is obviously *not* what the instructor *thought* it was; it's more like 4 motorcycle batteries' worth of charge instead of only 3.  But it would seem that nobody spent any time reading the documentation and simply put on the rose-colored glasses and skipped blithely forward/onward to the next fallacy.

So.  The Engineer in me has figured that the proper method of operation would be to include overvoltage protection for >both< channels of operation; obviously we need it for the Arduino Uno, and maybe not as obviously we need it for the 3-phase BLDC motor as well.  And here we are.  "We" as in "all of us".  'Cause I'm surely not smart enough to handle this on my own.  Not yet, anyways...

And as always - I thank you for your insights.  All of 'em.  And that's aimed at all of you.  ALL OF YOU!  Thank you!!!
