"Avoid Scams by dealing locally. No wiring money, cross-border deals, cashier's cheques, money orders, escrow or shipping!"
Avoiding scams by selling locally seems like amputating your feet to prevent ingrown toenails. PayPal has good fraud checks. I get a chargeback for every 300 or so payments through them, not a high risk rate (though perhaps that's because I don't sell physical items).
No wiring money,
Actually, if you make them wire you money via Western Union there's no risk -- they pay in cash at their location, you pick up cash at yours before you send anything to them. The big problem is it costs the sender a big fee to send so it's only practical with expensive items, plus it's risky for them if they don't trust you.
'Course if these are large items with small values I can see no one would want to pay shipping.
I'm local, but I probably don't want any of it since I don't have much disposable income myself. |
