Mission Accomplished: I made it into Mechatronics! by LongFist 2015-12-02 13:40:56
I made it!  I made it!  I made it!

It was by the skin of my teeth, but I made it!  Just got out of a meeting where I was informed --- as every applicant was informed --- on my interview feedback.  I have admitted 'conditions' on my leadership/business acumen (like an acidic razor-sharp sarcastic wit, and no compunctions over when to use it) that were indicated; yet they chose me over the others.

Not used to a win this big: I've got three big projects and two redesigns already on my workbench "over there" when I arrive!  Wow!  My cybernetics experience won the day - for a change being overqualified made it possible!  At the end of the day, I'm a Mechatronics Engineer, and Information Analyst no longer!

Thus I can stop sweating the gradual "offshoring" of the IT jobs here.  What a relief!!!

Now if only I can stop grinning!!!!  I've still got to go over to the high school tonight to teach some fairly advanced kids about building their EV controller: and this time *they're* building it, I'm not!  What a relief!!!
