there are certain phrases that - upon uttering - will *permanently* impact your discussion with whomever you are conversing. "I'm no longer affiliated with the NSA" does not help, nor does "...and I have nothing to do with the NSA." In fact, even *mentioning* the NSA at all is enough to bring the conversation under suspicion. I'm not sure they realize just how many enemies they have made with their "We try to stop terrorism by spying on American citizens" manifesto. (Incidentally, they're a grand failure to their mission.)
So, as long as I don't mention *any* spy agencies at all, in either direction, communication goes smoothly as initially planned. As to whether or not I get the point across, well, let's just leave it at "varying levels of success"... |
