Yes, I have set more stuff on fire than I care to admit, but that's how you learn how not to do it.

DIY? Is rising again. Recently Open Source hardware licenses have been launched. Parts and components are getting smaller and smaller, but on the other hand, experimentation boards and modules are often available 'off-the-shelf'. Development on new innovations and hardware often shift to the software side as well. Especially when the boards and moules mentioned are generic and standardised enough so that the challenge to let them talk to eachother isn't really the biggest one anymore.

The lawnmower project sounds like a great project! Using any known platform for your bot? Or are you building the mechanics from the ground up?
