A notebook w/ XP-Pro and Office XP had speech recognition enabled. For some reason, Word and Outlook would start doing random things. I noticed that voice recognition was enabled, and that the frequency of 'random' commands increased with ambient noise. Disabling speech rec' seemes to have made this go away... (perhaps the gain on the microphone needs to be dialled down...)
