In context, I had just said that I don't like to be corrected on subjective matters. Then I said I'd let him have the last word and let the subject drop -- and the subject is now dropped. This is about absolutism.
I'd like to think that I'm just being picky about terms. That it's perhaps not a good idea to correct someone about a subjective matter. I have no problem with someone disagreeing with me, nor do I have any problem with them saying so, or even trying to convince me to change my opinion. I just think it's a bad idea to say that anything that is judged on a subjective basis is specifically "correct" or "incorrect." |
