            MowBot Update: New Chassis Design! by LongFist 2014-08-18 10:15:08
Looks a lot like:

          __   __
         _||___||_
  +--+  /         \  +--+
  |  | /           \ |  |
 _|  |/             \|  |_
 _                       _
  |  |\             /|  |
  |  | [\\\\\\\\\\\] |  |
  +--+ [\\\\\\\\\\\] +--+
       [\\\\\\\\\\\]

This pic has the front ("reel") pointing down, the two "power wheels" to the outer left and right, and two "dragger" casters at the top, left and right.  The Reel has two casters (actually they act as stabilizers) to the immediate left and right of the "reel cage" itself.  (Hard to draw into this pic.) &nsdp;The hexagonal base is incredibly sturdy and really, really stable.  The tallest item on this little monster is the battery itself; a Yellow-Top marine battery that I rescued from one of my "junk" cars.  (The car went to the junk yard; the battery stayed with me...)

It's all pretty compact, and while I'm having some control issues with this thing, I suspect this may be the final incarnation of the actual physical mower-bit, the part that runs around the yard.

Just thought I'd mention that the project is not yet dead...
