There is no cure for the disease that I have. I will have it my entire life, and will never be able to drink like a "normal" person, ever. Alcoholics have no mental defence against the first drink. I was watching Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence and Batou said something profound, "...no matter how far a jackass travels, it won't come back a horse." Man, did that ever strike a chord. After I first stopped drinking, I figured I'd go to AA, get cured, and then be able to drink again. HA Not even. I'm a jackass, and no matter how far along the road to recovery I travel, I'll never be a horse again.
