Discuss....Who's your favorite composer and why?
I like: Beethoven's piano work (Moonlight Sonota, 3rd movement is supurb), Bach's orchestra (the Brandenburg Concertos are a work of divine art), Paganini's violin (Good Lord, what a genius!), and Apocalyptica's Cello pieces (they do such an incredible job of Metallica). Anything on strings sounds good to me, but I do love a good performance. It's the finer things in life that impress me...I was delighted when I learned that my friend's (now ex-)girlfriend enjoyed Grieg, but we argued about the Pier Gynt Suite. I was (by the way) right. She plays a mean violin, though. |
