How do I sign up for a user account?
If you look on the left side bar of that main User Friendly static page you should see a link that says 'Comments Sign-Up' or if you are on the comment board page you should see a link that says 'Create a New Account'. Click either of those links and fill in the form. It's that simple.

Do I have to pay to participate?
No. Getting an account on the UF Comments Board is free. You can read and post without paying anything, however if you decide that you would like to use the UF board without ads or if you'd just like to help support User Friendly you can become a paying member.

How do I set up a diary?
Click on the 'My Settings' link on the left sidebar. On the settings form you should see a box labeled: Your User Diary, Diary Top-Level Permanent Content

Fill this out with any information you would liked to be displayed at the top of your diary, email, Omnicode, Geek Code, or anything you'd like folks to know about you. You can check out other users diaries for examples. Save your settings. Now when people click on your user id they will be brought to your diary. This top level information can be altered at anytime by returning to your settings page.

Only you can put the first post in your diary, so once you've put in the "permanent" content you should click on the 'My Diary' link on the sidebar and then 'Post New Comment'. Usually the first post in a diary is a good place to post a general comment thread.
