Let's try this AGAIN... by shadowsystems 2006-08-06 02:43:31
My mother's BF has left me in an awkward position.

The first time he asked me to fix his system, it took me 6 hours & he paid me $50.
Not bad, it covered gas, none of my time, but he's on a fixed income.
That works out to $8.33/hour, which is acceptable for freelance computer work.

He's called me back FIVE MORE TIMES for the EXACT SAME ISSUE.
I had the forethought to make a Ghost image of his drive after the 2nd time.
The last 4 times he's called I've merely reimaged his drive - it takes 30 minutes instead of six freakin hours.

He finally paid me for the last 14 hours of work I've done for him.
$80.
It amounts to $5.71/hour which isn't even Minimum Wage around these parts ($7/hour).

I can't exactly tell him to "Give me more money or FOAD."...
(This IS my mother's BF, remember.)
But if he thinks my time isn't even worth minimum wage, then I'll be D4'd if I fix his system again.

My heart says to just suck it up & "do it for mom".
My head wants to grab his mini-tower & stuff it SO far up his keister he has to press himself between the EYES to power it on.

Can I get an Orbital LARTing for him, or do I need to "do it for mom"?
