Today is Monday, April 20th, 2037. Block and Ace are both employed on the same 0600-1800 shift, and you have the most entertaining stories to tell. For instance, just today, this afternoon's last call of the shift in fact, you guys responded to a High-Threat site where someone apparently blew up a Yellow Cab, terrorized the driver beyond rational thought (he was gibbering incoherently into a microphone, the cable dangling uselessly - if humorously - from its bottom) and then set the Cab Fare on fire. Or maybe the cab just exploded. The way some cabbies keep their cabs, you really can't tell the difference. The Cab Fare turned out to be the DocWagon client you guys were seeking, so you guys were able to stabilize him and safely transport him to New York - Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he is even now receiving some of the best care you can get short of a black clinic in Chiba! There was this really sharp-looking elven first-responder, but she split at the first opportunity. Guess she had to be somewhere - somewhere else - at that moment. But that's work-talk, maybe better to chatter about that some other time...
The time is 1952 and the party upstairs shows no signs of stopping. Makes you wonder, though, is there an expanse of time when there is literally nobody on the floor upstairs? Just a curiosity, because you've never seen "Hours" posted anywhere in The EchoPlex. Anywhere. Of course, that could be because they never close. Welcome to New York, the city that never sleeps, right?
Outside, it's the same old NYC weather: Mostly cloudy, 53.1°F, 83% humidity, with 3.5 mph breezes of no determinate direction and 7.0 mi visibility (as if that were possible). |
