Aha! Idiocy at its best! In our eMail... by LongFist 2013-02-28 11:48:31
I've noticed a crop of eMails that arrive with the the following tagline (at the very bottom):

"This message may contain information that is protected by law, trademark, or copyright.  If you are not the intended addressee, please inform us immediately that you have received this e-mail in error, and delete it. We thank you for your cooperation."

If you believe that anyone's going to follow those instructions then you've got promise writing West-Virginian virii:

You have just received the "West Virginia Virus."

As we ain't got no programming experience, this virus works on the honor system.

Please delete all the files from your hard drive and manually forward this virus to everyone on your mailing list.

Thanks for your cooperation,
West Virginia University Computer Engineering Dept.

...yeah, right!  Anybody with a malevolent streak (and that sums up just about everybody) will "do as they d4 well please", and matters will spin out of control as nature takes its course.  But I'll bet you there are some sure-fire firecrackers in the legal department who feel that this tagline is all they need to secure their communications.  I wonder how long that particular trend will last?  Once you tell a person that you have a surprise for them, you have verily lost the element of surprise...
