My right eye twitches involuntarily for a second before I close my eyes and let out a long sigh. Feeling the beginnings of a headache, I turn back towards the dead spider, edging closer. ‘I hope this thing is dead and whatever killed it is a friendly….on another note, I wonder if it’s body is worth anything..’ I pause to stare at the smoking carcass ‘Probably best I don’t touch it….might be against my philosophy of living’ I cover my nose as I pass by it and check around the corner to see if it’s clear and continue further into the building, patting myself to make sure all my weapons are there and at the ready should the need arise.
