He's a lean mean lava, err, selling machine. Love him, hate him or just plain feel sorry for the poor schmuck, Stef Murky sits down for an interview with UF.

[Iambe] HAPPY THANKSGIVING!Date:Thu Nov 23 07:27:56 2000
Happy Thanksgiving to all denizens of the Dust Puppy in the US. May you have a day of togetherness and fun with family and friends. If you are not feeling so together and would like some company, why not come and join The Global UFie Posse in #userfriendly on the Undernet. While we can't promise a turkey dinner and those really funky US style sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, we do offer the occassional pie (in the face :).

[Illiad] PLUSH DUST PUPPY IN THE STORE!Date:Thu Nov 23 00:35:43 2000
As promised, we finally have the little plush Dust Puppy dolls available again at the UF Store! Just in time for Christmas, you can hang him off your rear-view mirror, Christmas Tree, sit him on your monitor, fill your bathtub with them...whatever!

Thank you so much for being patient over this; I know it's been a long time since they've been available and we've taken steps to make sure this sort of things doesn't happen again. Much. :)

[Kethryvis] UFIE WEBRING UPDATEDate:Wed Nov 22 16:29:55 2000
Nevermind the earlier post gang. The webring is going through an ownership change now, and being taken off of Yahoo!'s WebRing System. If you want to join the webring, great! But hold onto your pants until it gets back up and running again. Thanks folks.

[Kethryvis] UF NEEDS YOU!!Date:Wed Nov 22 14:17:37 2000
That is... if you're free Dec. 8, are 5'2" or under, and are in Vancouver.

Our big Dust Puppy is going to the BCTIA Show Your Stuff Exhibit, and we need a poor suffer-erm I mean, a wonderful short-ish UFie to be our cute little (big?) guy.

You must be in Vancouver in order to volunteer, and you must be 5'2" or under. If you can do this please email me ASAP and let me know.

If you can, you'll get a stuffed Dust Puppy, a UF limited edition Volunteer T-shirt, free lunch, and some other goodies for your trouble. Thanks UFies!

I found this over at ufies.org but since I dunno if everyone goes there (if you don't, you SHOULD) I'm putting this here as well.

Some of you may be aware that we have a UFie Webring. Its just a ring of UFie pages.. they don't have to be UF themed, or UF centric, just you be a UFie and join the ring.

Well #userfriendly regular ZenShadow started going through our ring, and found that of the 182 sites we have, 59% of them are broken!! What does that say about us! Yipes!

So, if you're a member of the webring, please head over to ZenShadow's page at http://www.holyhex.net/dated/11222000-0.html and see if your site is listed. If it is... *please* fix it and update your WebRing entry! In case you didn't know, WebRing has been taken over by Yahoo! so to do maintenance, head over to Yahoo!'s Webring Maintenance Page and get things fixed. (editor's note: I had a female dog of a time getting my account set up on Yahoo!'s WebRing page, so just be fairwarned that it could be a major pain in the tuckus.)

(oh, and as for Arc's entry, he has already fixed it ;))

[WebDiva D] OH, WHAT A NIGHT! APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!Date:Mon Nov 20 11:26:38 2000
Many folks need to be thanked for the successful birthday soireČ on Friday evening...attended in person by 165 of UF's finest and gawd-knows-how-many hundreds on channel #userfriendly throughout the night...so I will start with my thanks and undying gratitude to:

Erin (san|ty), Christine (Kethryvis) and Angie (Sparrow), the 3 phenom UF ladies who planned the entire night from start to finish and then made sure that the night went as planned. The success of the evening rests squarely on their shoulders.

Graham (Lurch), Jaleen (Grovella) and Mike (Banacek) whose creative work never ceases to make me proud and prone to show it off. The party art was done by these fine folks, from C.I. staff popping out of a champagne bottle to Dust Puppy in a tuxedo.

Jay (Yohimbe), Greg (kickstart), Mike (saucepan) and Mike (Wildcard), UF's incred-o techs who pull rabbits outta their hats so regularly that we at UF tend to take them for granted. I declare a moratorium on all tech abuse for the week.

Mark Watts, Dave Virchell and Carolyn Wilmore of SGI who so graciously loaned us the many boxen for the evening. I am not a Quake player, but !damn! those SGI's make Quake look so purty I almost tried to play! Having Erwin present in his O2 and beret, speaking haiku all evening, was just too cool. Yohimbe sends a healthy tip o' the hat again to Russ Dill of #nvidia channel at irc.openprojects.net for troubleshooting above and beyond the call.

Wes Borg (of 3 Dead Trolls in a Baggie) thank you, thank you, thank you for flying in and performing the Internet Help Desk skit.

Jess (StarLady), Dan (Pommie), Hollee (lovelee), and Doviende who all pitched in and assisted with irc, welcome and transcript duties.

Iambe and Arcterex, our dearlings, compadres and partners-in-UF-crime who also did irc and Q&A panel duty. (Congrats to our irc Trivia winners, secrtbear, blackfire, _thp, Sirilyan and Erin Conn.)

The Modern Groove doods for the evenings' tunes, and Drew (mux) for doing his awesome set.

Rosedale on Robson, Playdium, Clearnet, SuSE, Modern Groove, ActiveState and Grouse Mountain, who provided us with some terrific door prizes and schwag.

Webcafe crew of Tod, Bob, the bartenders and security guard...whose names elude me at the moment...for providing their services and the great venue.

Last but not least the biggest thanks go to our ubiquitous inspiration and the sun what shines down upon us all at UF: Illiad. Without him, there would be no 3 year anniversary. Congrats and kudos, babe!
