[Illiad] APRIL 2005 BACKFEED v1.1Date:Sun Apr 10 18:29:52 2005

INTERNET RADIO FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW BETTER! This was sent in from friend and patron, Doug F.: EggRadio.com [CAUTION: Some coarse language on the page], a source of "Alternative Classic Modern Rock" music srreams for your IntarWeb pleasure. I've been listening to them on and off for a couple of hours every day since Doug turned me on to them.

THAT CRANKING NOISE YOU HEAR is just me rejigging the launch date for the next sponsorship drive. Wednesday, April 13th is the day, and I'll have the art ready to go to the printers for the limited edition run. Thanks for your patience!

CARTOONING FAUX PAS? Could it be that I botched the execution of the April 10 cartoon? One reader wrote: I love UF, own all the books, read the strip religiously. I'm sure you guys didn't intend to make light of sexual violence. I think it'd be cool if you could link to Stop Prisoner Rape (www.spr.org), the biggest organization working on the issue in the US.

Done and done; this particular topic has some resonance with me as I worked for two years as a corrections officer in a max security remand centre. You're right that I didn't intend to make light of something that horrid. I had hoped that the message in the `toon was clear: laugh at the irony, not at the violence. It's quite possible I did my job poorly for Sunday. I thought I was careful with the message. Maybe I wasn't careful enough.
