A HOUSE WITH A FREE LOCK FOR YOUR FRONT DOOR: Our friends and partners over at Register4Less have launched their new Privacy code for domains! This means that your WHOIS information harvested since Day One by the barrel mould known as "marketing companies" is no longer available to their beady little prying eyes -- at least, if you register your domains over at R4L.
Doug over at R4L emphasized that this is a free service (and he agrees it bloody well should be); charging for it would be like selling someone a house and then charging them for a lock for the front door.
For over six months I've endorsed R4Ls services because I believe you can't find a better overall deal anywhere. That they're all white hat geeks over there is just icing on the cake. I urge you to consider using them as your domain provider; I'm sure you won't be sorry.
SPEAKING OF WHITE HAT GEEKS: Did you know it's SysAdmin Appreciation Day on Friday, July 29th? For the past couple or so years attention for this day and those it celebrates has only occurred on the day itself, which puts a bit of a damper on having the lead time needed to go off and get your sysadmin(s) something nice. Try cake and ice cream, with blue LEDs. :) Spread the word! These unsung heroes help get our packets to where we need them.
