[Illiad] A COUPLE OF QUICKIE LINKSDate:Thu Sep 5 14:08:26 2002
The fine folks over at Pair are running an interview they had with me here. It's not a long one, and I had a little more fun than usual answering the questions

On the subject of links, there's a new non-cartoon site I've just kicked off over at Aspectus Dot Com, a combination news dissemination and op-ed site. The participation policies I've created for the site might be considered a little Draconian by some, but I think they're appropriate given the high noise to signal ratio found on a lot of web-based forums. Come on over!

[Illiad] FREIGHT OF THE RUINDate:Tue Sep 3 01:21:58 2002
(Ye gods, Freight of the Ruin?? I'm really reaching with the homophones for 'State of the Union.') Another quick update and a favour to ask this time around.

We're getting even closer to launching the new member tiers and allowing for credit card payments. We had some business rules to work out, and as usual getting anything done financially in Canada was like pulling teeth (the Canadian banks are really conservative, see, and things are simply not done that way my good man.) But! The Launch Draws Near. I'm expecting to be able to give you an accurate date in the next week or so. In the meantime, a thousand thank-yous to everyone who has subscribed, and who continue to subscribe! A difference has certainly been made.

Now, for the favour. A while back, maybe six months ago, I asked for I.T. job leads in and around the Seattle area for a friend. Turns out that her residency on the East Coast had the effect of blinding any hiring manager who read her resume.

She has since moved and is now in the Bellingham area of WA state. Anything within reasonable striking distance is fair game, so if you know of a place that's hiring PC support personnel or analysts (and that hasn't already advertised heavily on the Web or in the papers), please do fire me an e-mail at the usual address. Thanks, gang!
