| | [Illiad] OUR SPONSOR: REGISTER4LESS.COM | Date:Sun Sep 24 18:05:25 2006 |
The very fine geeks over at register4less.com have been sponsors of UF for two years, and over this time they've continued to add more great features without increasing the price of a domain by even a penny. From information privacy to account locking, it's all just been good stuff added to more good stuff. Doug, the head cheese over at R4L, just notified me of yet another addition:
This release continues our efforts to bring more valued services to R4L customers. Included in this release are:
- Free unlimited email aliases. This replaces the catch-all forwarding, and judging from customer feedback, is already having a significant effect in reducing spam that reaches their inboxes.
- Enhancements to the Login Security Agent. If you've not checked out this R4L Exclusive security feature, you need to!
- Order summary & domain details
- Revamped Help system
We hope these new additions will make domain management even easier for our customers.
Need a new domain, or about to renew an old one? Please consider uf.register4less.com for your needs. I wouldn't be endorsing them if I didn't think they were just the best.

| [Illiad] BACKFEED SEP 2006 v1.2 | Date:Sun Sep 24 17:52:09 2006 |
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT: The UF Summer Membership Drive has come to a close, and I thank all of you who signed up or renewed for your support! Without your dollars and the support of those who elect to view the advertising we serve, I'd have to give up this enormously fun gig and go get a real job. Cartoonists can make really bad corporate wage slaves; we're constantly writing and doodling unflattering crap all over everybody's cubicles.
WORLD COMMUNITY GRID: TEAM USERFRIENDLY.ORG NEEDS YOU! If you have CPU cycles to spare (say at night, when you leave your machine(s) on but don't use them) please consider joining Team UserFriendly.Org in fighting much of what ails the world (cancer, HIV, etc) with the power of distributed computing. The client is available for all major platforms and is pleasantly configurable. It also doesn't chew up your hard drive and RAM like some much earlier distributed computing efforts. We're in the top 20 already in the world, and would love to hit the top five. It's for a great cause.
PITR COLA - THE RETURN: UFie Marcus A. Mouse sent in a couple of really quite charming renderings of that vituperative liquid, Pitr Cola. Now I'm thirsty. Thanks Marcus!
