This is a big departure for us, but success stories were slow in coming in this month and Grant's email got my curiosity piqued. I read through his resume and he does not lack professionalism, talent or experience. With Grant's permission then, here is his email: Hello there-- It is mildly inspiring, but ultimately depressing to read these stories. I put my resume up on Geekfinder, and have diligently followed up by checking the postings, and have heard *nothing*. I have over 10 years experience, superior qualifications, and good referrals; but there seems to be nothing out there.Grant And here is Grant's resume. Meantime, over in the Comments system the Question of the Day June 27th was "What are the qualifications of a good, geek-friendly company?" There were several detailed answers...so insightful and well-presented that we are posting a notice to employers on Geekfinder that points back to the discussion!  Peter, one of the great UFies that set-up the UFie meet at Comic Con last year, sent us some information about this year's meet: "It's that time again! Time for another Ufie Meet at the annual Comic Con International 2001! Last year had a great turnout of Ufies, despite a very crowded schedule, and we all wanted to do it again next year! Well, next year is now *this* year! We plan on meeting Saturday noonish at the infamous "tables under the sails". Time TBD due to possible scheduling conflicts with other seminars not yet scheduled. For those who couldn't find us, we will have a DP sign to make ourselves more obvious this year!" The meet will take place on July 21st, but to get more details and arrange times, all interested parties should contact Peter. More information on Comic Con can be found on the calendar... nudge, nudge. :)
