After much fussing about (interleaved with lots of development time) and some adjusting here and there, the semi-public beta phase for Geekfinder.com has begun.
We know the software isn't perfect, and the skills database needs expansion (we do offer a simple way for you to suggest additions to the taxonomy), but please check it out, create your profile (NOT a resume!) and give us your feedback.
The whole idea behind Geekfinder is matching. You don't have to browse job lists -- the system does all of the matching for you, returning results that fall within the criteria you specify (skills you offer, location, money you want) that also happen to line up with criteria an employer specifies (skills they need, location, money they're offering). So no more five-week seven-interview ordeals that end up in a job offer but for money that's less than you're making now.
