A T-SHIRT WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD
21:03 PST 22 NOV 1998
Just a reminder that you can order a t-shirt by sending the appropriate amount as a money order in Canadian Dollars to:

Parasun Technologies Inc.,
Suite 210, 435 Columbia St.,
New Westminster, B.C.,
V3L 5N8, Canada

PLEASE make certain that you make the money order out to Parasun Technologies Inc. and not to me. I'll just send your money order back.

CHANGE OF PROCEDURE
21:00 PST 22 NOV 1998
If you've ordered a t-shirt in the last little while, don't expect an e-mail confirmation of your order. We literally have so many orders coming in the merchandisers are having trouble keeping up even without sending out email. If there's a problem with your order, you will be contacted, so don't worry there. We're examining a couple of e-commerce solutions so we don't need to worry about this sort of thing in the future.

HALF-LIFE IS BETTER'N HALF-ASSED
21:46 PST 20 NOV 1998
In fact, Half-Life utterly rocks. It's an excellent example of good game design, and in a few days (after I finish the entire game) I'll tell you why. If you want earlier takes on the game (because you just can't wait to justify spending your hard-earned cash), check out the review at Online Gaming Review.

DAMMIT JIM, I'M A CARTOONIST NOT A DOCTOR
20:49 PST 19 NOV 1998
I know that's no excuse. Thank you to everyone who quietly pointed out that the kidneys aren't located in the chest cavity. What makes it worse is that I knew that, and I even wrote it down in my notes, but I had brainlag somewhere and the notes never made it to the strip. I stand corrected.

ACK!
10:05 PST 19 NOV 1998
Thanks to the many who wrote in to tell me I did a mis-link on this page. It's fixed now. I really need to do the HTML a little earlier in the day. Yeeeesh.

SITE DEVELOPMENT III
22:54 PST 18 NOV 1998
I'm happy to say that most of the preliminaries for the redesign and development of this site has been completed. With luck, we'll implement the changes by December 1. Keep yer eyes open here for an announcement and a call for volunteers (with a payback package for those who make the cut).

HONOUR AMONG GEEKS
22:51 PST 18 NOV 1998
The party involved in the demolition of a desk at Bliink has contacted Devon and cleared things up. As I hoped, it was a misunderstanding, not a case of someone trying to evade responsibility. Here's to honour among geeks, and a special thank-you to the person who came forward and demonstrated laudable honesty.

ROCKET (WO)MEN
21:41 PST 17 NOV 1998
I got an e-mail from Aleta Jackson over at the Rotary Rocket Company down in the Mojave Desert. These guys build ROCKETS! And, they have two job openings. They need two experienced (5 years) programmers who have data acquisition and control as their coding strengths. The company is a start-up, and as a result, they don't have all of that supremely annoying crap to be found in corporate culture, like dress codes and timecards. Aleta promises one of the finest benefits package in the country and a great deal of fun, so if you've got what it takes, drop her a line at ajackson@rotaryrocket.com and tell her Illiad sent you. Geeez, if I had the coding muscle they needed, you lot might be out a cartoon strip. I love rockets and space technology!

MONEY ORDERS FOR T-SHIRTS
21:39 PST 17 NOV 1998
Anyone who's interested in getting a t-shirt but doesn't have a credit card can make a purchase via money order. Please contact Josette to make arrangements.

ONCE AROUND THE SUN
00:27 PST 17 NOV 1998
Yes indeed, User Friendly is one year old today!! When I look back, it all seems so surreal. What can I say other than thank-you to all the people who supported me, helped spread the word, encouraged me to continue, wrote in to show their appreciation, and helped keep me honest. Thanks, people. You're the best!

OOPSIE
00:21 PST 17 NOV 1998
Yesterday's Link of the Day was actually submitted by Nivlac, not Nivlak. Cripes, cartoonists can be such silly gits.

ANOTHER F.A.Q.
00:16 PST 17 NOV 1998
I've been asked this several times in the past few days, so let me answer it here and then add it to the FAQ later this week. Question: Why don't I set up a static GIF that everyone can just tag their own webpage or channel or whatever with so they don't have to visit the site? Answer: An agreement with a couple of sponsors stops me from doing this.

OKAY, FESS UP
00:10 PST 17 NOV 1998
I received a report that one of the desks at Bliink Interactive was damaged during the anniversary bash. Whoever did this, please do the right thing and contact Devon so that something can be worked out. Devon could take the fall for this if the person involved doesn't step forward, and if that happens I'm going to consider not ever endorsing a UFie meet in Vancouver again. Don't spoil it for the rest of the folks. This can be kept between you and Devon, so please fix this.
