| In light of the absence of an update last week, here's a double helping. And no worries, this double helping has nothing to do with Mr. Cola. Email: I'm mostly caught up -- I think -- on e-mailing people back. If for some reason you sent in a letter or question and you still haven't heard back from me, write me again. Rule number one around here is that I'm available to the entire audience. I do ask for patience and understanding and all that sappy stuff, mostly because there's only one of me. My typing has gotten much better since I started UF, that's for sure. :o Raising funds: Things are proceeding smoothly so far with the IPO. I know many of you have written in asking how you can get a piece of the pie. Once we have things lined up properly, I'll make sure to post details on how you can buy in; we even have a surprise or two regarding UF shares that I think you'll get a kick out of. I do want to say that the entire filing process is, to me, staggering in its complexity. Kids, don't try this at home! The UF Store: I've been made to understand that the re-opening of the UF Store will happen in relatively short order. The back- and front-ends are coming together nicely, and we'll soon have a slew of other products for you to buy for Christmas, Hannukah, just for the hell of it, whatever. Thank you for being so patient! (And yes, we have more plush Dust Puppy dolls in.) Last but certainly not least: I never do this enough, but a million thanks to Iambe, Arcterex and Ciannait for their contributions to the UF community. The same to other fine folks, like Barry Drake for running the Friendly Forum, Dramoth for running the UFie WebRing, Dave Easterly and every UFie who has participated in the RC5 and SETI@home efforts; my pal Moe for running the UFies BBS; and last but not least the folks who have put together their own local communities of UFies around the world, such as the DFW UFies, the VA Ufies and others. I'm sure I'm forgetting other people; I'll apologize in advance and submit to a lynching when they get to me. :) And thus ends this week's update. I'm gonna go read my Spiderman comics now.
