 I'm off and running to Penguicon in Warren, Michigan from Thursday May 1 until Sunday May 4! This is one spiffy event, and I do believe the first of it's kind: a combination Linuxfest/Science Fiction con! There'll be the usual suspects there including but not limited to Terry Pratchett (!), Eric S. Raymond (Dude! I owe you a beer!), Rob Malda (he runs some site called Dotslash or something) and my colleague and co-conspirator Pete Abrams! The variety of events alone makes the con worth visiting, so if you're near or in Michigan this week, come on by!
UFie events already planned include a dinner, a movie (the opening of X-Men 2! Halle Berry in tights! WOO!) and a game of Hunt The Wumpus (the Wumpus will be played by an unarmed and bewildered Senior Microsoft VP). Well okay. One of the three probably ain't gonna happen. We'll never get into X-Men 2.

 The day is drawing near! Linuxfest Northwest is this Saturday, April 26 2003 at the Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, WA! I'll be heading down for the day to enjoy the crowd, Maddog's keynote, some of the seminars and to top it off, the local brew! Also, Computer Gear will have a table at the show selling a pile of Linux-related stuff plus a bunch of UF Gear as well, and I'll make my carcass available for signing stuff at 2:45pm at the Computer Gear table.
If you can't make that particular time I'll always be happy to sign whatever if you spot me at the show; just walk right up and ask and the ink shall flow! Also, right after the signing I'm thinking about going for a brew at the Archer Ale House down in Fairhaven, which isn't that far from the Fest. Come join the few/many of us, everyone is welcome!
