HELP CONQUER CANCER: A new project has been launched today by World Community Grid.
The project, Help Conquer Cancer, is a collaboration between The Ontario Cancer
Institute (OCI), Princess Margaret Hospital and University Health Network.
The goal is to improve the results of protein X-ray crystallography by
running image analysis on the results of high-throughput (robotic) biology
experiments. The scientists have the results of over 86 million
crystallography experiments for more than 9,400 proteins to analyse. This
project will allow them to detect the proteins ready for structural
analysis, and also to determine the best way to optimise partial failures.
HOW TO JOIN: All you need to do is register with World Community Grid, and install the BOINC
software. Be sure to check out the team site as well. There are loads
of nifty features available. If you need any help at all, please contact me.

WHADDYA MEAN "A WHOLE DECADE"?! No, I don't believe it either. November 16th, 2007 will complete ten (!!!) full years of UF cartoons, one cartoon a day, every day, colour on Sundays. This is what I've spent the last decade on? WOOOOHOOOOO!! Come November 17th, I'll be starting UF's eleventh year. I wonder what if 'tooning has a problem like Unix's 2038?
