| You honestly wouldn't believe some of the things that people send in for the LOTD...outright porn, their online bookmarks file, photos of their pets...so, to cut down on some of the more, ummm, pointless submissions, here is a guideline for you to follow: - Start with 10 points, just for making a submission
- Only site of its kind, +10 points
- Funny, +8 points
- Geek-related, +5 points
- Site design doesn't suck, +3 points
- Linux related, +2 points
- UF related, +1 point
- Things blow up, +1 point
- Reader interaction, +1 point
- Already been LOTD, -15 points
- IE only website, -15 points
- Windows only plugins required, -15 points
- Shows naked people, -15 points
- Commercial Site, -10 points
- Plugins fail due to bad Javascript detection, -8 points
- Uses profanity, -5 points
- Unnecessary Java Applets (menus, etc.), -5 points
- Java applets, -3 points
- Specific content timeframe, -3 points
- Your own site, -1 point
Now aim for 20 points, but if it's just shy of that, send it anyway. 10 or less, you probably shouldn't bother, because it won't be posted unless it's amazingly cool. If you're into the negatives, you're reading the wrong site! Send those LOTDs to links@userfriendly.org
