Dec 01, 2005 is World AIDS Day, dedicated to those who have died, are suffering from or are fighting this non-selective disease through medical research.
In support of this kind of global humanitarianism, some UFies (led by fine chap Didactylos) have started up Team User Friendly over at the World Community Grid, whose mission "[...] is to create the world's largest public computing grid to tackle projects that benefit humanity." Projects currently include Human Proteome Folding (clients available for both Win32 and Linux) and FightAIDS@Home (client only available for Win32 at this time).
If you have some spare computer cycles please consider helping out in this worthwhile cause.
