| At long last I can finally disclose a few things that have been happening over the past few months. Or longer. The financing has CLOSED! YAY! It wasn't a big financing, but it was our first one and so it took an inordinate amount of time. If nothing else, I could probably turn my journal entries for the past couple years into a book. And it would probably be listed as a comedy instead of non-fiction. We're waiting on a few formalities before we can fire off details on the stock, but it should start trading by mid- to late February, assuming we aren't struck by a dose of brimstone and treacle. What the financing does for us is free us up to build the infrastructure we need to keep our heads up in a marketplace which is dominated by media giants like Disney and AOL Time-Warner. It's not easy, but we're making a great go of it (and having a lot of fun in the process)! On other fronts, we have a new animation! This one doesn't feature any of the characters from UF; rather, we wrote and produced this for a high-tech company. It was fun to do and I think you'll see that our quality of animation has gone up by several notches. If you're a developer, or anyone who's had to produce a deliverable to a really nasty deadline, I'm betting you'll get a kick out of it. A separate news item for the animation will be up very shortly with a URL. By now you probably know that we're bound for Linux World Expo in New York. I'll be there for sure on Feb 1, and I understand that we'll be having a get-together sometime in the evening. I'm really looking forward to seeing folks I haven't seen since the last LWE-NY, and meeting some new people. I encourage everyone to come out and drop by the booth, even if you don't need anything signed. We'd love to see you!
