A button battery powered, slowly blinking, random coloured, wearable as a pinned to clothing adornment or even as a piercing if that's your thing, tiny LED.
You have to press a tiny button on the back to turn it off & on, but given how easy it is to toggle, simply smacking it as if it were a StarTrek ComBadge does the trick.
