The queen-thing's head is easily severed, and with a gout of ichor (it's getting mighty juicy over there) that splashes all over anyone standing there (that would be you, X). Yep. It's absolutely nasty. No hope to save for half, either, since you're right there at ground zero. Fortunately for you, X, it just smells bad and makes everything slicker than snot on a glass door handle. (Hey, it could have been acidic, right? Or a contact poison - which it is NOT!) You're reminded of a quote from Bill Murray: "She slimed me". Yukk!
...and so it would appear that the group has managed to quell the arachnid uprising in the parking tunnel/garage beneath the old citiBank Business Incubator. Guess they were incubating more than they had bargained for huh?
Except there are a lot of unanswered questions: this place looked like a war zone - surely those police guys could have wiped out this small force, couldn't they? I mean, they were all beat up, and *retreating* for Pete's sake!
Ace is stabilized thanks to Block's expertise, a couple of stitches, and a light jab of anaesthetic. Not bad, and a great show of teamwork!!!
Lady S is still on point, which is a good thing. Because when she darts a look out into the corridor...
It looks like open season, out in the corridor. There are waves of people (humans, metahumans) with various armaments standing in various forms of "ready" (you can tell a lot of these people learned it from the street or from television --- they're not ready for prime-time!) just outside the open doors of this gallery that you've -er- emptied(?). Not sure where they all came from, but they appear ready for action - at least as ready as they'll ever be.
Then Ace, his glance actively seeking any other view, happens upon that vista as well, and freezes, muscles locked down tight. (Which is sort of an indicator of *something* for Block, although he's facing the wrong way and can't see it.
And X: X is mortified right now (not enough to put him off his battle cadence - he's much too strack for that) but seeking targets towards the back of the gallery, and not toward the doorway... |
