*Spinning Grunion & Ace logo to a tweedling musical accompaniment in classic Batman style*
Ace passes Block at a happy run, leaps onto the hood of his car to butt-slide to the driver's side in a monkey hoot of glee, & does a sort of gymnastic twisty thing to land beside the door in a breathless squeal of delight.
Unlock unlock unlock, disarm disarm disarm, open the door, hit the toggle to unlock Block's door, & eases into the seat like a weary traveler sinking into a jacuzzi tub for a hot soak to relax.
It's a feeling he can't describe, just that he & the car fit like a glove & can seem to sense each others' moods.
He knows deep in his soul that his car, his baby, his darling is just as pleased to see him as he is her, & that the urge to go cruising is the gas that fuels their get up n' go.
Ace takes a long moment to carefully adjust his restraints to their maximum secure retention, to make sure the mirrors are "just so", that his seat hasn't been moved, that all the controls are still where they belong, & that all is ready.
With a contented sigh he looks over at Block & reminds his friend to buckle up.
"Get in, sit down, strap in, & hang on! This is gonna be FUN!"
Hands at ten & two, the engine purring to life like a tiger coming awake, Ace stares out the windscreen a moment as if he's suddenly realized he's wearing someone else's underwear on his head.
In a kind of comedic "laughing at myself", kind of ashamed "I'll be forgetting my own name next" sort of way, he glances sideways at his friend & asks in a tone of voice much like a kid asking the director of the play for a line prompt:
"Ummmm... where were we going again? I just had a brain fart of the Silent But Dumba3 kind..."
*Cough*
