Good Morning! (Reaching for the bazooka...) by ShadowSystems 2003-09-17 16:25:07
"You know it's going to be a bad day when..."

Despite the fact that your out-going-message includes the statement "...Telemarketers, Survey-takers, and Charities, just add this name & number to your Do Not Call List. I'm not interested, no sale.", you wake up to your phone ringing off the hook with telemarketers trying to sell you stuff you have NO need for (I don't own the apartment I live in, so why would I need vinyl siding?), someone taking a political survey on a candidate you've never heard of ("No offense, M'am, but you've obviously ignored my out-going-message that specificaly told you I wasn't interested. Now add this name & number to your Do Not Call list."), and some schmuck from a "charity" that you've already told a bazillion times to bugger off (Oh look, 85c of every dollar I donate goes to pay for the CEO's new car? I don't THINK so!) calling to request another donation...

Or, when you finally decide that, after all the calls, you're *awake now* (an hour and a half before you normally would have been, after a late night, and barely four hours sleep) and someone knocks on your door to tell you that your car's lights are on. You go out to check, and sure enough, they're on... flickering as the battery dies and grunts out it's final erg... (Sighs)

Ok, I can take this... (Closing eyes, taking a real DEEEEEP breath.) I can find a silver linging... I know I can, I know I can, I know I can...

To realize you've just locked yourself out of the apartment, wearing nothing but a bathrobe and a pair of funky slippers...

(Insert Primal Scream of frustration here.)

Thankfully the manager was already up and in the office to let me back in, but [CENSORED] is this a poopy way to have started my day...

At least "work" wasn't too bad.
The kids were fairly well-behaved, the parents were polite, and the teachers were fairly full of good cheer... ("Shiney Happy People Must Die!" heheheh)
The soda machine spit out an extra Diet Pepsi for my 55c, which was nice considering all the times it's eaten my change and given back nothing...
The local Togo's (sandwhich shop) held a meeting in the Teacher's Lounge, so we all got free catered munchies just for listening to some dingus try and sell us on donating our time "to help the local children"... Hello, Twit! We work at a PUBLIC SCHOOL. Whom among us do you think has the extra time or money to donate, to do something we're ALREADY doing by working at a SCHOOL?! *LART-THWAP!* (Insane giggle)

Anyway, just needed to get that off my chest now that I'm home.
I really do NOT want to check the fifteen messages on my Answering Machine for fear that it's nothing but more idiots that can't follow instructions... <8-J hehehe
