      Ace's actions... by ShadowSystems 2017-05-30 13:38:33
Ace notes the appearance of Block's laser dot at his feet, it's new position, & the request to move to that location.
Replying back over the same link: "2, 3, Confirmed."
"slides to the new point, rolling his shoulders as if to work the kink out of his neck, trying not to let his nervous flop sweat become too apparent.

He risks a quick peek-&-pull Prairie Dog maneuver to try & get a glimpse of the room beyond, then has to refrain from smacking himself in the forehead for his stupidity.
Keeping his weapon at the low-ready position against his thigh, he reaches up with the other hand & removes his decoy ComLink from it's shoulder holster.
Reaching up as high as he can, aiming the ComLink's sensors into the room from around the door like a remote set of eyes, he does a slow left-right scan of the room.
Once more at about chest height, then a third down about ankle height, the better to detect any opposing sensors that might be placed up high, in the walls at "Man High", or down near the floor like virtual tripwires.
As soon as the scans are done, he tucks the ComLink back in it's holster & replays the sensor data inside his head.

Does there seem to be anything immediate that needs attention, like a guy standing in the shadows with a gun leveled our way?
Are there any obvious hazards that I should warn the others about, like a pit trap or a set of swinging pendulum blades that'll cut the unwary in half?
Are there any monsters lurking about that need a quick bullet in the brain, or perhaps they're cowering in fear of something even worse than themselves?
(And if THAT'S the case, what are they afraid of so I can send my rounds at it instead!)
As soon as I've finished my viewing of the data I'll open the Group To All link, encrypt the hell out of this, & send both a message & the recorded data:
"3, All. Target scans. Head's up."

I'll go back to both hands on my weapon (lest the flop sweat compromise my ability to keep control of it), crouch low as I gather myself, ready to spring into action if called for or to cat slink into the room otherwise.
I'll shake away the random thoughts of bbq wings, fruity drinks at the Echoplex, & wanting to dance my hoop off like a peacock for all the pretty girls.
Grumbling mentally to myself "Focus! Work first, party after we get paid."
