Ace opens the group to all encrypted link & relays the info he's found out about the guns, arcs of fire, that they've got AP & explosive ammo, that there's a pair of explosives somewhere rigged to go boom if anyone f4s with the guns,
that there are three separate Spider Systems linked to the guns, & finishes with "...and I'll try to add us as Friendlies. Hold on, gimmie a sec..."
A deep breath to calm my nerves, then ducking down below the sand bags for cover should something start shooting at us.
Squatting as if pulling a hover maneuver over a distrusted toilet, keeping my noggin down below the top of the sand bag wall, I'll bend my head almost as if in prayer.
Pistol atop a thigh so I can use both hands to do this s4, I'll get busy with my decoy ComLink.
I'll pretend to fiddle with my decoy ComLink so nobody thinks I might have any headware, because that's sort of my Ace in the hole.
I'll use my real one, routed through the decoy like a dumb terminal, & try to *GULP* hack my way into the gun control system.
Can I find the Friend or Foe list? Can I add us to it without triggering anything? Do I have any confidence that I've done this right & won't get us all slaughtered as a result?
There's really only one way to find out, so I heave a huge sigh of relief, put away my decoy, & give a low thumb's up gesture as I whisper "That should do it!"
I'll have pistol in hand as I peek back up over the wall, unwilling to be the first to expose myself beyond it, but fairly certain nobody else will move until I do.
They're not stupid, certainly not suicidal, & best to let the hacker test their own hacks as the default guinnea pig, no?
