In response to your "Santa Unix Clause" posting, (above/2011)
Here is a copy of some Unix Prose I wrote several years ago:
( about the time frame you first started posting to UserFriendly )
Two short stories, which contain dozens references to unix commands, terms, and program function calls.
( the second one #includes reference to your "fortune" thread in diary postings here )
Here they are:
Pause...cat continues to wait & listen
while mouse seeks to access more kernels
and gnaws at break in structure, while
it does #include each byte of food touched
in cache of wall.
cat sets focus at nibble action of mouse-
paws..step..pause..step cat gets set for kill.
JuMP* try: slash/slash/ like fork(s) touches tail
RUN, mouse, RUN. Else gets() cut to core
alarm, alarm !!! AWK, AWK sed round-robin.
while cat switch focus, mouse access port & exit
next: cat slash@robin head; slash@tail
if cat finds head, robin gets pasted+input
nice AWK, finds top branch, less cat - while
idle mouse gets cookie, then sleeps in lint
----------------
foreach man who seeks fortune
while more idle man sleeps
you make code + port nice GNU apps.
clock cycles Fwd:, head man, finds fortune
more time to life, seeks break- pause
rewind...
find Perl, swap numbers, date, continue.
query(touch)==true, I/O, more-more..NICE
next: attach-ed, "Magic Garden" $PATH
read(vows), link, write signal: chr(7)BELs
while(true) do foreach day: listen,love,continue
foreach night touch,more,swap tail,fork(link),sleep
if(signal), wait, spawn child process, sleep=false
echo 'goo-goo-GNU", input paste, pipe, stdio->tar
wait, potty-train, gets cookie, sed "Dada" more
break device, swap/swap, echo "WAAaa!!"
continue... Man+Perl who find child nice
OK, what do you think of that....? Kind of SAP-y, but I liked-em... ;-)

Yes, I know your Christmas post was quite a while ago... but I've been gone from UFie-land for a few years years.
When you DO find this diary response in another year or so, toss me a reply or comment. |
