      Ace's actions... by ShadowSystems 2015-11-10 14:18:45
At the disembodied voice telling them to leave, Ace freezes in place & keeps his hands where the other can see them.
He's still holding his (decoy) ComLink in his left hand, but otherwise his hands are empty of obvious weapons.
In a quiet voice that hopefully won't carry beyond the roof Ace says: "Not looking for trouble from you Sir, not intending to start any either."

When X's message comes back, Ace looks at the ComLink in his hand in disbelief.
"Are you certain there's something coming for you? Street view appears normal. At the moment I advise further surveillance, I would also recommend splitting up and moving to different buildings, and further monitoring the situation."
Ace risks taking another look over the parapet to try & see if he can still see the wraith-like things down below.
((Perception: 5, 3, 1, 1, 3, 2, 1, 1, 3.))
Ducking back down below the parapet & crouching where he hopefully won't be seen by anyone (or thing) else not above his current position, Ace sends back a silent reply via his internal ComLink.
Over the encrypted "Group To All" contact he says: "Primary, Three. Inbound appear as wraith-like shadows moving as a directed group. Not, repeat Not harrassing bystanders. May have to move from current position due to armed magical resistance being encountered. Update as able. Out."
With that Ace turns his attention towards the Voice & addresses it in a soft, calm, & nonthreatening a manner as possible.

"Excuse me Sir, please forgive this Mundane for not being in tune with your Magical persuasion, but if the reactions of my friend are any indication then you're a hell of a lot of power.
I don't want to earn your ire for intruding on your personal space, & offer up a gift as a token of Good Will & proof of what I say."

Ace carefully, slowly pulls a DataChip out of his pocket, slips it into the (decoy) ComLink, & makes a copy of his personal MapSoft with all the notes about the locations listed therein.
Once the copy is stored he ejects the DataChip & holds it out on extended palm.

"This is a copy of my personal MapSoft of all the good, cheap, & tasty places to eat in this town that I've found so far. Most of them are also good for finding food they're not watching, not protecting, or won't notice missing until it's too late. Might this be a suitable gift to remain up here a bit longer, Sir?"

Nodding to Grunyon with a tired smile at his friend's words, Ace adds in his own two cents.
"We were told to take high ground & keep our eyes open for trouble down below. We're just supposed to watch for it, not cause it if at all possible.
If this gift is acceptable then we'd like to remain here to keep watch, but if it's not then accept it anyway & we'll be off your roof just as fast as we can get away.
Thank you."

To Grunyon via the internal ComLink & encrypted channel Ace sends a brief message:
"Get ready to fly our butts the hell out of here. If this guy wants us gone then I'd like to leave faster than the fire escape, ok?"

Ace looks at the man calmly, hand extended, DataChip in palm, hoping that the offering will prove acceptable enough to turn Potential Hostile into merely Irritated Bystander instead...
