Upon noticing the wraith-like things off in the distance, Ace opens a "Group To All" encrypted ComLink & sends a bit of trideo along with his report.
"Primary. Three. Unidentified inbound. Possibly magical. Advise Fire, Flee, or Maintain Surveilence. Out."
Ace keeps his eyes & ears peeled, scanning from the surrounding rooftops, to the windows level with their position, & then back down to the ground.
He's trying to make sure nobody gets the drop on them from above, pokes a sniper rifle out at them from a window, & keep tabs on the pedestrians for Reggie, the Lady, & the damned wraith-like things.
They give him the heebie jeebies & he'd rather be ready for them BEFORE they swarm his butt.
((Perception: 5, 4, 2, 4, 2, 2, 6, 5, 6.))
Via an encrypted link to Grunyon he sends: "Hey, I just had a thought I want to run past you.
What if those things are somehow homing in on one of us or my ComLink? If we & it stay together then we won't know which it might be.
If I leave the ComLink on this roof then you fly me to an adjacent roof & then yourself to another, it will be obvious which they're homing in on by the building they swarm to attack.
The moment it becomes clear, you fly back to pick me up, the ComLink if it's not that as well, & then fly us the hell out of here.
I can even set up my ComLink to focus down the street along this same Line Of Sight, access it remotely from the other roof, and get an even better Field Of Fire if it comes down to blasting these things.
Bonus in that it leaves us with a ready escape plan to trigger before those things can get to us, and we can run like hell while they're trying to reach the roof.
